The Rising Star Challenge got underway today with great waves off the wall at Duranbah.

There were perfect beachbreak peaks everywhere you looked.

And grommetts flying through the air and getting shacked over and over again.

The winner will be anounced at the presentation on Sunday for the Rip Curl Kirra teams Challenge.
