Dean Morrison wins Rip Curl Cooly Kids Memorial Event in 2008

It was an all star final for the Cooly Kids comp this year.

1st – Dean Morrison (Snapper), 2nd – Joel Parkinson (Snapper), 3rd – Asher Pacey (Kirra), 4th – Mick Fanning (Kirra). To determine the winner each surfer was judged on their 2 best waves. Of the 4 surfers best 2 waves there was no less than a 9.5 wave score recorded.

Luke “Baldy” Rawlings (Snapper) and John “Bearsy” Cummings (Snapper) took out the Pairs divison whilst congratulations to Brittany Nicol (Kingscliff) sealing the deal in the goils division. The gallery also witnessed our future up and comers Sammy Clift (Kirra) and Damo Norman (Kirra) go to town both achieving no less than semi final births in the Open and Pairs divisions, onya guys. Little (Snapper) dynamo Leonard Rawlings teamed up with Dan Holt (Nth Straddie) in the Pairs but just falied to progress.

To top it off It was another great weekend overall and a fitting tribute to Sean Fanning and Joel Green the two young men who this event has been run in memory of for the last 10 years
