Corey Ziems new Queensland Open Champion

Kirrasurfriders Corey Ziems has won the Queensland Open Championship.

This gives Corey a spot in the Quiksilver Pro trials 2011.

Well Done!!!

Corey is just about to embark on WQS campaign in Europe , America and Hawaii.

Kirra Surfers In Form at Byron Easter Classic

Our surfers were again in the finals of this years Ben King Memorial Byron Bay Classic. In the Fleas Division, Dexter Muskens was the standout performer winning the final with some impressive backhand and forehand maneuvers. Also in the Flea Division was Dylan Totten who unluckily was knocked out in the quarter finals after having back to back heats surfing in the Cadet Division where he also made the quarter finals. Our other surfers in the Cadet Division were Blaine Robinson who surfed well but was knocked in the semi-finals and Josh Atkins who knocked out in the quarter finals.Great surfing boys.

Jake Cumberland was successful in the Under 19 Division and finished in 3^rdplace and put together some impressive top turns and roundhouse cutbacks. In the Open Division Alex Chacon made the semi-finals and was unlucky not to have progressed to the final. Matt Hurworth was his usual consistent self and made the quarter finals of the Senior Mens Division.

Once again Broken Head turned on the waves and with excellent conditions our congratulations go out to Byron Bay Boardriders for another successful event.
